You know they say you can’t win if you don’t play! There are lots of great prize drawings at the virtual exhibit hall of the Southern California Genealogical Society Jamboree conference, going on daily through next Saturday, June 12th. You do have to register for free at scgsgenealogy.com or genealogyjamboree.com to see the exhibit hall, but after that you are good to go to enter drawings and use show special codes at all the booths. Ancestry.com is offering free access to newspapers.com, Fold3 (military records) and own extensive Ancestry.com records through next Saturday. Take advantage of it this week if you don’t have subscriptions at those three!
In my virtual DNA Breakthroughs booth, I offered three prize drawings, just for adoptees. I have two Ancestry DNA kits to award, plus I am offering to work on a case for an adoptee who has not received help with their search. Go to my DNA Breakthroughs booth in the Jamboree virtual exhibit hall to find out how to enter. I just awarded one of the Ancestry DNA kits to Ramona Roller for her cousin who is adopted and ready to search.

On Friday, the first day of the Genetic Genealogy part of Jamboree “The Genes in Your Family,” I won a drawing for something from The Ancestry Agency shop (under “T” in the list of booths). I chose a cool genealogy tote bag – check it out!! The Ancestry Agency also has genealogy mugs and notebooks for sale. Kimberlie Guerrieri is a professional genealogist who blogs about genealogy on her The Ancestry Agency website. Saturday, I found out I won a drawing for an amazing tree jewelry set from the Bling Genealogy booth! I choose the darker blue jewelry set pictured (turquoise and magenta were also available; it was a hard choice). They also sell unique genealogy clothing, masks, more jewelry and miscellaneous history-related bling on their website.
Plus, I have a $5 coupon code to use to order something else from the Bling Genealogy website. I am leaning toward a custom pendant with a picture of a special document from my own family history, such as a piece of a census (like the one above) or another document or photo? Now to choose which one!
Lastly, today I heard I won a Saturday drawing from Eastside Genealogical Society booth, for a Grab Bag of Pacific Northwest Resources for the area of Puget Sound, Washington state. I think it is contact information and cards for museums, genealogical societies and repositories. I will also be in their drawing next Saturday for a chance for their Show Special: A Personalized Look-up in Local Repositories, up to 10 hours of research in the Puget Sound area. They have Special Interest Groups, such as a DNA group.
What are you waiting for? If I am this lucky so far, you should enter every day for the booths that take daily entries and enter the others one time.
